Engine Rebuilds

Selecting the right components for your engine rebuild all depends on what you are striving for as the finished product, and its intended use. While the air-cooled engines of the 70s-80s were made for mass-manufacture, they were always used in various classes of racing with some serious pieces of tech, that people have continued to develop to this day.

Buzzworkz sources all parts from the best quality manufacturers of pistons, connecting rods, valves, cams, guides, cam chains and more. Let us know what you are looking to achieve with you next engine build and let us get it to the right specification, if it’s a concourse rebuild, street performance or racing application.

Carburettor Rebuilds

Often a source of frustration, but fixed by the simplest of issues. Carburettor options for your next project range from brand new flat-slides to re-furbishing a vintage set of round-slide carbs. Buzzworkz use ultra-sonic cleaning baths and plating techniques to get your carbs back in-tune, with your engine setup.

Electrical

The standard looms on 70s-80s bikes were not built with longevity in mind, any bike owner will tell you of electrical woes and shifty repairs ‘from the day’. Buzzworkz uses the same standard of wire used in military aviation applications and also the same wire looming and terminating techniques, to ensure that connections are correct and long lasting. Buzzworkz will sort out fuse panels, relays, switch gear rebuilds, instrumentation connection, hybrid applications (new interfacing with old) and starter motor issues and anything else that may be an electrical gremlin you cannot find.

Full Resorations

Buzzworkz are keen to help you get want you want out of your vintage pride and joy, having the right experience is everything to getting a build done right. The detail of getting bushes turned-up on a lathe to the right tolerance or machining sections with utmost precision is what makes something a long lasting build or something that needs to replaced again in 6 months. Our restorations include vintage race replicas, hybrid modifications to use new parts on the old frame (wheels, shocks, rear-sets, forks, brakes etc), all the way to a concourse rebuild. 70s & 80s bikes are what the Buzzworkz specialises in and we are more than happy to discuss your ideas and how they can be achieved from an engineering point of view.

Frame Alterations

Tubular section frames that were built in the 70s and 80s were not very rigid, we have a series of frame kits to increase the rigidity of your vintage bike, which will enhance the cornering ability of your motorcycle. Extra frame sections are added in various locations where the bike is prone to unwanted flex and torsion. We can also re-mount shock positions or increase the rake on your ride for various applications too.
